Create Account
First of all, you must create an account. The account is used to log into both the game and our website. Click here to open the registration page.
Download the game
Install World of Warcraft. You can download it (legally) from here: Windows or Mac. Make sure to upgrade to our current supported patch, which is 3.3.5a (12340). Patch mirrors can be found here.
Setup the game
Open up the "World of Warcraft" directory. The default directory is "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft". When you've found it, open up the directory called "data", then go into the directory called either enUS or enGB, depending on your client language.
Change server address
Erase all text and change it to: LOGON.HOTSCHMOE.COM

No Exploiting or Cheating
Do not use hacks, speed hacks, teleport hacks, or any third-party programs that give an unfair advantage. Bug exploiting should be reported, not abused. Violators will be banned.

One Account Per Player
Each player is allowed one account. Multi-boxing or creating duplicate accounts to gain advantages is not permitted. If you need account assistance, reach out to an admin.

What version of WoW do I need?
You need World of Warcraft version 3.3.5a (build 12340), also known as Wrath of the Lich King. This is a specific client version — retail WoW will not work. You can find 3.3.5a clients through various WoW private server community sites.

What is Solocraft?
Solocraft is a module that scales dungeon and raid difficulty based on how many players are in your group. This means you can experience all dungeon and raid content even when playing solo or with a small group. Stats are buffed automatically when you enter an instance.

How do I connect to the server?
After creating an account on this page, open your WoW 3.3.5a folder and find the file
Data/enUS/realmlist.wtf(or your locale folder). Change its contents toset realmlist logon.hotschmoe.com. Then launch WoW and log in with the account you registered. -
What are the XP rates?
XP rates are set to 2x across the board (kill, quest, exploration, and pet XP). Drop rates are 1x (Blizzlike). This gives a slightly faster leveling experience while keeping loot progression authentic.
